The existing store was split into two separate retail units, with separate entrances to each of the two sales floors. A new bespoke entrance foyer was formed, including a new customer staircase and platform/passenger lift involving major structural alterations to form the openings through the concrete slab and the formation of the lift pit. A new concrete DDA compliant entrance ramp was formed at ground floor level involving significant excavation and reinstatement of the floor to address all the various changes in levels.

Trespa external rain cladding was installed to the front elevation façade to complement the new aluminium shopfront, decorations and external signage which was all installed out of hours on a very busy public Market Square hosting the famous Romford Market.

The main roof was overlaid with a Bauder insulation and felt roofing system, providing the client with an insurance backed guarantee for the integrity of the roof finishes.

New partitions and ceilings were constructed forming new areas to suit the new store layout and the entire building was refurbished with new decorations, flooring and sanitary ware throughout.

With security being a top priority, new high security doors, frames and roller shutters and fencing were installed to all perimeter openings with a new CCTV security and alarm system incorporated.

Complete new Mechanical Ventilation and Air Conditioning systems formed part of the scheme with a new Electrical installation providing bespoke lighting, power and data throughout the store.

Bespoke shop fit installation on both floors was installed during the contract works to complete the transformation of the Unit.
